Glasgow Life - update 23 March 2020
I am contacting you to advise that Glasgow Life are running a skeleton Universal Credit support service as of next week to ensure that customer’s who need our support the most, continue to get it during these difficult and uncertain times.
The service’s will be provided at:
Anniesland Library on a Tuesday and Thursday (it will be myself 07397877818 and my colleague Paul ).
Shettleston Library on a Tuesday and Thursday ( my colleagues Gillian 07771251845 and Joanna 07827954180)
Ibrox Library on a Tuesday and Thursday ( William 07443824264 and Jennifer 07443824193)
Clients must make an appointment first or they will not be allowed to enter the building. They can call 08081699901 to book or if you are making an appointment on someone’s behalf, you can phone a Universal Credit Support Officer directly on the number’s provided above. The shutters at each venue will be down and the building will look closed but if we are expecting someone in, we will allow those with an appointment into the building at their scheduled meeting time. Before making any referrals, please could you ask the client if they have a persistent cough or temperature. If they do fall into this category, we can have a chat with the client over the phone to see how we can help, but while symptoms persist and as per Government guidelines, we will not be able to see them face to face.
We will be able to assist with making new Universal Credit claims, as well as maintaining claims and also supporting with other related issues, such as Crisis Grants and food bank referrals.
If you have any other questions whatsoever or you need any information, do not hesitate to contact me directly and I will be happy to answer any questions. Please could I also ask you to cascade this information to all of your staff to ensure that those who are experiencing financial difficulty are still getting the support they need.
